Lake of Bays - my first Muskoka Lake

Blog by Ragan Zilic Lovegrove | June 6th, 2015

Lake of Bays is the Second largest Lake in Muskoka, you may not have known that because we always think of the BIG 3 as the largest lakes (Rosseau, Joe & Muskoka).

Lake of Bays was my first lake that I boated on when I moved to Muskoka.   We boated the whole day and I couldnt believe the size.  We stopped in Dorset for ice cream and Baysville for a bathroom - it was a long day.

Lake of Bays has the reputation of being a more quiet lake, yes there are the big boats and the sea doos but when you ask cottagers if it is a "busy lake" they will all say not at all.

Rich with history and stories - I urge you to launch your boat, canoe, kayak and just take a tour - see if this is the lake for you.
