Having grown up close to big cities all my life, when the time came to follow my heart and move to Muskoka I was nervous to say the least. I knew it would be a big change, and that it would most likely take some time to settle in and find my country feet.
Whether you are buying for seasonal use or moving up to Muskoka full time you will have a period of adjustment as I did.
It wasn’t long before the rhythms of the north took hold and I began to relax and enjoy the process of discovery in Cottage Country. Although a bit reserved at first, the local community soon made me feel welcomed and at home. All the things that I thought I would miss were there, I just had to look a bit harder. Muskoka is such a vibrant beautiful place.
I wish now that I had had a friend, or a guide who was able to understand the transition I was going through. Someone who had done the move ahead of me; someone who could show me the ropes. I would love to show you the in's and out's of the real Muskoka. The Muskoka that is vibrant and alive even after the leaves have changed and the cottagers have headed south. Let me be your Muskoka Guide.
I can answer your questions about those things that come up after you have settled in. As I found out, there were questions I didn’t even know to ask. But I certainly know the answers now. The area is more than I ever expected and I know it will be that way for you too.
